Juan Urgell is a Venezuelan-Mexican director, a modern nomad who has traveled the world with his film camera to over 20+ countries, giving him an intimate understanding of the human condition and the universal art of storytelling. He has directed commercials, documentaries, short films, branded content and music videos, for brands like NBA, Netflix, Shure, Citigroup, Alpura, Coppel, Banco Afirme, among others. He specializes in creating new and raw formats, and loves to use a diverse and fun combination of mixed media, leveraging 2D animation, motion graphics and still photography to elevate the modern, digital-first approach of his films. Before directing full time, Juan was an Executive Producer, working alongside world class directors such as Ariel Fish, Lucy Sandler, Heinz Kobernik and Paul Johnston, producing films for global brands like HP, KFC, Whatsapp, Chivas Regal and Cerveza Modelo.
